Transportation Options to Community Partners’ Service Sites
The University of Richmond provides transportation to students wishing to volunteer throughout the city of Richmond.
For students who do not have a car or access to a carpool, several modes of transportation are available to reach volunteer sites. Students should take a few moments to consider modes of transportation available to sites when making their decision on which partner organization they wish to select. Once you have explored volunteer opportunities and transportation options and have identified the organization you wish to work with, you may begin the registration process through the CCE by visiting their How to Volunteer webpage. Registration will open on the first day of class each semester and will close the Wednesday of the fourth week.
Students who indicated a need for university sponsored transportation to get to their chosen organization will receive an email from Transportation Services regarding shuttle assignments or alternative modes of transportation. Once transportation has been finalized, students will be contacted by a CCE staff member about any prerequisites that must be completed before they may be confirmed to begin volunteering at their selected organization.
Students who indicated they will not need university sponsored transportation will be contacted by a CCE staff member about any prerequisites that must be completed before they may be confirmed to begin volunteering at their selected organization.
All registered students will receive a final confirmation email with their start date from a CCE staff member. Students are not permitted to begin volunteering with the organization until they receive this confirmation email. Receiving a transportation confirmation or completing volunteer prerequisites is not the same as receiving a start date confirmation.
